Our latest Ofsted Report Card says:
What its like to be a pupil at this school:
Pupils are proud of their school. They value the very positive relationships they have with staff and their peers. Pupils understand the importance of keeping themselves safe, including online.
Pupils are kind to each other. They respect their classmates’ right to a calm learning environment. This means that classrooms are tranquil hives of activity where pupils can focus on their learning. At social times, pupils benefit from a variety of activities to help them develop their confidence and resilience. They love to make use of their peaceful, outdoor surroundings. For instance, lots of pupils play safely with sports equipment and outdoor LEGO sets. They understand how to share respectfully. Older pupils make sure that younger pupils are safe and happy. They truly are role models.
Typically, pupils relish their learning. They take pride in their work and strive to do their best. That said, over time, they have not achieved as well as they should in national tests, although this is improving.
Bullying and any form of unkindness are very rare here. Pupils know they can tell trusted adults if they have any worries or concerns. They are safe in the knowledge that this will be dealt with sensitively and quickly. Pupils celebrate differences and diversity. They have a secure understanding of a range of cultures and faiths. This helps everyone to feel welcome and part of the school family, including pupils who are disadvantaged and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Pupils enjoy coming to school, increasingly so. Over recent years, more pupils have attended school regularly. This means they can benefit from the safe and peaceful learning environment at school.
Many pupils take part in the clubs and trips on offer. For example, craft club, yoga club and gardening club are popular options. These opportunities help pupils to build their teamwork skills and understanding of the wider world.
