Educational Residential Visits at Woodcocks’ Well CE PS

At Woodcocks’ Well, we are committed to providing children with ‘learning outside the classroom’ experiences. Each Year, Children in Years 3,4, 5 & 6 are given the opportunity to participate in an educational residential visit.Over the years we have visited a range of different venues; including FSC in Betws y Coed, Condover in Shropshire, Petty Pool in Northwich, Burwardsley, Conway Centre in Anglesey,

During the Autumn Term of 2015 children in Years 5 & 6 attended a 3 day visit to FSC in Betws y Coed. The residential offered the children a ‘Field Studies’ experience during which time they took part in orienteering, bat detection, moth trapping, pond dipping and a selection of activities designed to develop team work and raise awareness of nature and the senses.

Petty Pool is always a favourite for the children in year 3 to visit. The children love the action packed two days of high ropes, low ropes, archery, the adventure playgroun, den building and sipping hot chocolate around the camp fire.

During the Autumn Term of 2016 children in Years 5 and 6 attended a 3 day visit to th Conway Centre in Wales. The children enjoyed a range of activities, including a camp fire, survival skills, dragon racing and mask making.
