Childhood Toys

This was our first lesson for our new History topic which is ‘Childhood Then and Now’. This lesson was focused on toys and how they have changed, including how the materials that toys are made from has changed. We explored toys that were used by the children in the Victorian times up to the present day. We went to see the old rocking horse that is in our school to look at the design and try to work out when it was being used by children to play with. We then compared rocking horses to those that we have presently and decided that they haven’t changed much. This was not the same for other toys that we discussed and we look forward to investigating this further in our next lesson!
